Blog award from Lorraine

This is a blog award from a very talented and generous lady called Lorraine. I have never received an award before and as all recipients of awards do I would like to make a little speech.

"I would like to thank everyone for the support and comments they give, it keeps me going". :-) xx

I have to list 7 things about myself.

1 I have 2 very talented children.

2 I have been with my partner for 22 years.

3 I take a size 9 shoe.

4 I am very organised at work but not at home.

5 I love blog hopping and looking at other peoples work.

6 I bought a Bind it all at Christmas but haven't used it.

7 I enjoy playing with my Craft Robo.

I now have to pass this award onto 15 other people.

I will have to pass it onto all my 5 followers, except 2
who have already received it.

The people listed below have left comments or given me inspiration from their blogs.

As I am still new to blogging I have given my awards to
the kind people who have left me comments, and some
blogs where people have been kind enough to offer
freebies.

The reason I don't get much crafting done...

This is a card my 10 yr old daughter made from the new Crafter's Companion CD, Peter Rabbit. She has decoupaged the rabbit, after cutting it all out herself. She then stuck it onto a coordinating background paper and put a carrot border down the side of the card. All I got to do was the printing out and cutting around the carrots for the matching envelope.

She also decided to make 2 mini cards using the Peter Rabbit teabag papers. Once again I got to print and cut but she did all the folding and sticking. I'm not sure if she has finished these cards, I may suggest something in the corners, but she will make her own decision in the end.

These two models are what my Star Wars obsessed 13yr old son has made from Fimo. He made these during Fimo classes at Craftastic with Bev.

For the blue model (Max Rebo and his piano?) he used some pictures off the internet. For Oppo Rancisis (the green, grey haired, snaky thingy) he used a Hasbro figure he already had. He wanted me to put them on my blog until he makes a blog of his own.

Hopefully I may get to do some crafting for myself this weekend instead of helping my kids do theirs, (that is assuming I come back from ice skating in one piece). My daughter won a family ticket in a raffle at school and 28/02 is the last day we can use them).

IACCC #3 challenge prize

This is the prize I won from the It's a Crafter's Companion Challenge blog #3. It was kindly donated by Ildiko. I can't wait to start making things with these stamps and embellies. I have a lot of friends who the stamps will suit (shop 'til you drop, handbags & shoes).

At the moment there is a place open on the DT so hop on over and take a look IACCCB.

Crafter's Companion Challenge Blog #4

This layout is for the IACCC. This time the challenge is an inspirational one. You have 2 photos to give you the inspiration.

This photo came to mind when I saw the inspiration. I have used purple bazzill from Craft Den and then black and silver paper from my stash. You also had to use glitter and buttons. I have glittered the edge of the flowers and have used black dewdrops instead of buttons on the corners the lyrics to the song "Funny Face". Why don't you join in and hop over to the challenge, you have until Monday 1st March.

Fimo models

I don't have a card or layout to show today so I thought I would show you some of the Fimo models I have made.

Dopey I made on my own using pictures off the internet and everything I have learnt from Bev, who does Fimo classes every other Saturday at Craftastic.

It is to go with a set of dwarves my kids made at the children's classes Craftastic run during the school holidays. I also made the prince to go with Snow White but I will show you that another day.

This little cutie is a picture holder.

This is a Christmas elf we made a couple of years ago, at some point I may make something for him to be holding.

Scrapbook pages

I have been told off by my friend today for not posting on my blog so here is a layout I have done. The pink layout I did at a Craft Den Thursday night scrapbook class last year and the blue one is the one I made to go with it. It is of my son & daughter's 1st ride home in their car seats. I have to finish off the blue layout by adding dewdrops to the middle of the flowers. I had to scan the flowers from the pink layout so I could cut them out on my Craft Robo lite (which was my Christmas present from my OH and kids), as I don't have a cricut.

My son is now 13 1/2 and nearly 6' tall, and my daughter is 10 and still as cute.

Crafter's Companion Challenge Blog #3

The theme is "3 papers can include the backing paper, use brads/buttons/pearls and 1 flower. optional hidden tag" my hidden tag is the thank you on the reverse side of the picture.

I had so much trouble making this simple card. I lost the image I had just coloured in (Copic markers from Craft Den ) then it just turned up again staring me in the face. Then I couldn't find one of the orange corners, once again looked all over was just about to cut another when I found it clinging to the bottom of my trouser leg. This will teach me to be crafting at 1am. The colour inspiration was from Daydream Believer's blog I tried to use bright spring colours.

Crafter's Companion Live card making 03/02/10

Here is my attempt at the card on the Crafter's Companion Forum. Ellen was the mastermind behind this card. We used a CD which I have never used in crafting before.

It has been snowing this evening and at the moment it is about an 1" deep. Hopefully, it won't get worse. We will be on school watch in the morning to see if the schools are open. Here is a picture after about 2 hrs snow. My OH got caught in the slow moving traffic, nearly ran out of petrol (but managed to get to a petrol station on fumes) and was 1 1/2 hrs later than usual.

Live crafting on Crafter's Companion Forum

Here are a few of the pages I did of the book, Ildiko typed us through on the Crafter's Companion Forum. I won't put all 13 pages on you can see them if you join the forum.

This is the front of the book, I have to choose a name to put on there, I was thinking of "Pretty Things".

This is a page I am going to put the neighbourhood cats on, both my children love to fuss them as they don't have pets of their own.

This one has the decoration down the middle of the book to hide where I have joined 2 pieces of paper because my measurements were out.

I will be joining in again of Thursdays so will post my effort when I can.
