Crafting When We Can Challenges #28 - Sketch by Ang

Thanks to all those that joined us for the last Challenge, your work was wonderful.

The Challenge this fortnight is a Sketch by Ang.

Our Sponsor is the wonderful

The image I chose is Little Mushrooms in a Row.  I coloured it with Copics and Promarkers, the papers were from a big 360 page pad from K & Co and I dusted over them with Tea Dye Distressed ink to make them a little more vintage looking and bring the  papers together.  I used a Nellie die to cut the circle out and dusted this too.

To join in this challenge just hop over here and leave your wonderful creations with the little Blue Froggy.  I'm also sure the DT would love it if you left a little love for them too.  Everyone likes a little love.  BIG HUGS :-) xx

Crafting When We Can Challenges #6 - Female Birthday

All the entries for the spooky/abc were great, we have some very talented people out there in blog land and the winners will be announced soon over on the challenge blog.

This fortnight over on Crafting When We Can Challenges we have a simple theme it's 'Female Birthday'.  You can use any image and create any project as long as it follows the theme.

Our rules are simple 1, follow the theme 2, no backlinking 3, max enteries, 4, link to the challenge blog 5, max of 5 challenges.

Our Sponsor this challenge is Stretch n Bubbles.  There is a bio of Alison the owner over on the challenge blog.

I chose the image of Marcy holding a cupcake.  Her little ballet shoes reminded me of my daughter when she was little.  The buns she used to have looked enormous in her hands just like this one does on Marcy.  I coloured her with Whisper pens, cut out with a Nellie die and shaded with DI.  The cupcake and backing paper are from a 360 sheet pad by K & CO and the sparkles are free from a turny thing I bought from C&C.

CHALLENGES

My Partner in Crafting Crime #35 - Use a freebie (the image was a freebie from the sponsor)
Shelly's Images TTT - Show the inside of your card
Stampin with the Dragon - Food for thought

**Edited to add Just Inspirational Challenge #9) - A very, very, very quick post for the Delicious Doodles Competition

Teri at Delicious Doodles has decided to have a DT CALL and a competition to celebrate her 1 yr anniversary.  I am not applying for the DT but I would like to enter the competition.  Here is my card.  The sketch is from Just Inspirational Challenge #9.

I have used one of Teri's fantastic doodles and scraps from Creative Cottage, K & Co and my stash.  The snowflakes are from my MS corner punch and have stickles in then middle.  I coloured the white spot in the blue paper read to match the present on top.

Got to go and link now as I only have a about half hour before the competition closes.

Will let you know how I got on camping when I recover.

IACCCB #11

For the last It's a Crafter's Companion Challenge Blog (the challenge blog is hopefully being revamped and should rise like a phoenix from the ashes), we were asked to recycle magazines/newspapers, use 3 buttons and glitter.  Here is my entry.  The picture looks a little washed out because the light wasn't too good.
I based the flower on a Youtube video.  It was cut from newspaper and the edges were coloured with distressed inks.  The buttons have a piece of paper ribbon (the type you use on presents to make the curly ribbons), and the sentiment is stamped using 'peeled paint' distressed ink.  The paper used if from a 6 x 6 K & Co paper pad Classic K.  I have used stickles to highlight around the flower and on the flower itself. As the flower is so deep I will have to make a box to put it in.

ATC Swappers - May Swap

These are my swaps for ATC Swappers - May - theme Tall Tales.  This is an extract from ATC Swappers blog. "So, we are looking for any story characters, fairy tales inspired ATCs. Bring on the Little Red Riding Hoods, the Humpty Dumptys, the Willy Wonkas - whatever you can think of. This is a regular, straight forward swap when we swap 4 ATCs. It's up to you, they can be 4 identical ones or 4 unique ones."  I have chosen to make 4 unique ones.

For Alice I have used an image from Dezinaworld.  The papers are from a 6 x 6 K & Co paper pad - Classic K, gems from stash and image coloured in copics.
For the White Rabbit, image by Bugaboo, papers, gems and colouring media as above.
This is my version of Thumbelina the image Digital Doodlings.  The Paper, gems, colouring media as above.
This is my interpretation of Little Mermaid, image from Tracey Dawnn Splitcoast Stampers. (I'm sorry but I've lost the link and can't find it). Papers, gems and colouring media as above.
Very quick blog today but I really enjoyed doing these ATCs.

Cowgirl Sunday Stamp'en Challenge #1

This is my entry for Cowgirl Sunday Stamp'en Challenge #1 - Sping or Mother's Day.

I have used a freebie from Cowgirl's Blog (I don't know if it is still available CJ has been re-modelling her site and opening a new digital stamp store.

I have used some K & Co 12" x 12" papers and paper flowers I got on sale at Hobbycraft.  I coloured the image with copic markers and hand wrote the sentiment. (handwriting has never been my strong point).

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Just a notelet

This is a notelet I made when I needed to send a message into my son's school.  The papers are from a 6" x 6" K & Co pad 'hopscotch'.  The image is a Dustin Pike freebie.  I chose this image because my son's school has just started to raise quails and this is as near as I could get to a quail. (I also love Dustin's images and don't use them enough).  I have coloured the image with copic markers.  I'm still practising with shading, I'm more of a crafter than an artist.  Some people have a natural talent with colour, me I'm more of a paper person if you know what I mean.

Hope everyone has a good day and that the weather warms up.  I'm really fed up with this chilly weather and I don't mind cold.

Just cute bears challenge #15

This is my entry for Just Cute Bears challenge #15 - Buttons and bows.

I haven't used proper bow as I just couldn't get them right so I hope these knots? will be OK. The buttons I cut off my daughters school shirt, luckily she has grown out of it, (more new clothes, I do wish they would grow a little slower). The paper is a K & Co 6 x 6 paper pad 'Amy Butler'. I have put a big gem in the middle of the balloon.

The image is by Sliekje at Sliekje's Digital Stamps. I love Sliekje's images and they are all free.

I hope everyone had a good weekend and has a good week to come.

MAWTT #44 - Heidi's sketch

When I saw this sketch, by Heidi over at MAWTT I knew it would make a great scrapbook page and I had the perfect picture.

This is my son on a day out at Woodside Wildlife & Falconry Park with the Wildlife Watch group we attend. It was a beautiful day and the kids got to hold all sorts of reptiles. I particularly liked this picture because the snake just curled up and sat in Rancorman's hands.

I have used K & Co papers, it was a pack of 200 different papers which I bought from QVC years ago.

I will add the journalling later when I can think of something to write. I usually leave a space for my journalling but find it difficult to put what I think into words that other people are going to see.

I hope everyone is having a good Bank Holiday weekend and I can't wait to hear what you have been doing.

Just cute bears challenge #11

This card is made for the Just Cute Bears Challenge #11.
I have used a stamp I have had for years and coloured it with Copics. I used a Nellie C die to cut the mat and a page from a 6"x6" K & Co pad called Roam to cover my base card. I coloured flowers from my stash with Copics.

cute little polka dots and stamps for sale

This card is for the IACCC #6. They have asked us to use a gatefold card and have shown a red polka dot picture as inspiration. This is my entry for the challenge. I made a red base card using card from the DCWV Christmas cardstack with green matting from a K & Co 6"x6" pad Classic K and polka dot paper from Jak Heath Designs. The image is from the Peter Rabbit CD from Crafter's Companion. I have used a little polar white flowersoft on the card so it can be used as another Christmas card.

I am getting quite addicted to making Christmas cards and I now need to make envelopes for them. As I make my own cards I don't have envelopes to fit. Thank goodness for my Enveloper and box maker.

***Just a heads up that Sarah at Stressed Stamper has some Penny Black stamps for sale, hop over and have a look.***

2 cards to show this time.

I've made 2 cards this weekend. It's taken me about 3 days on and off. Hope you like them.
The first is for Fab's big Christmas card challenge, you have to use a triangle card, stencilling or stamping. I have used (can you guess from the picture?) a triangle card. I cut the card on my Craft Robo, the snowflake is a Cuttlebug die and the decoupage is from the World of Beatrix Potter CD, the snow is Flowersoft. It's my first Christmas card this year, not bad for someone who leaves it 'til December to start making cards.

My second card uses a Bugaboo image. The background is a K & Company 6" x 6" pad called classic K. The "I'm late" was cut on my Craft Robo. I know it's garish but I like it, it reminds me of spring. This was my first time at cutting an aperture with words and it took me ages but now I know how to do it, it won't take as long next time. Don't know what I will use it for, might just keep it to look at and see what can be accomplished with patience.

Mother's Day Card

This is the card I have made for my MIL. I have mis-stamped? a flower at the bottom but I'm sure she won't mind. I've also noticed I haven't put MUM on it yet so will do that in the morning before we take it to her.

I am entering this card into the A Gem of a Challenge challenge. I have followed the sketch but I have put 2 leaves at the side of the big flower instead of 2 other flowers. I hope this will be allowed. The paper was a K & Co 12" x 12" paper I had and the red card had heart shapes embossed on it. The flowers were Prima.

For my Mother's Day I have bought (from my children) a new set of cutting plates for my Big Shot (I have used my other so much one of them cracked) and I have on pre-order from Craft Den a couple of Tim Holtz new dies. If you pre-order there is a discount. Hop over to the website and see for yourself.
