Late again...

This card is for Fab's Christmas card challenge. It was due yesterday but I'm hoping I will have time to get it in.

This card was for Fab's Christmas card challenge but as usual I'm late it should have been for challenge #11. I couldn't find the right tab for the centre and then I remembered I had bought some round stamps I had never used. So out came the embossing powder and viola I had my centres.

Quick post today

This card is for a friends daughter, she is 8 today. All the backing papers are from the Mrs Tiggy-Winkle CD and the image is from the Tom Kitten CD from Crafter's Companion, ribbon from C & C TV. Nice and simple today everything edged with silver mirror card from stash (I always cut the middle from the mirror card when layering so it can be used for some thing else.

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend and for all those who manage to get to the NEC (lucky people) I hope you didn't break the bank.

An award and Rancorman's fimo creations

This award was given to my by the lovely, talented Lorraine I have to pass to 5 people and say something sweet about them. So here goes.

1, Sliekje - http://sliekje.blogspot.com/ - Sliekje is very generous and gives away her amazing doodlings free.

2, Sarah - http://stressedstamper.blogspot.com/ - Sarah's cards make my day during the week, every morning I turn on my computer to see what she has made before I go to work, I really miss them at the weekends.

3, Sandra - http://rosepetalcreations.blogspot.com/ - Sandra always leaves me lovely comments on my blog and this gives me the encouragement I need to carry on making cards I don't always think are worthy. I love Sandra's use of bold colours in her card making. It's what makes her cards stand out.

4, Pops - http://poppetsathome.blogspot.com/ - Pops is always so upbeat and makes gorgeous cards. It's a pleasure to visit her site.

5, Diane - http://ddnjoys2stamp.blogspot.com/ - Diane is so positive about my attempts at card making and scrapbooking. Her blog has really great cards, I love her colour coordination.

I would also like to give a mention to everyone else who visits my site I really (tears are flowing now) appreciate all the lovely comments you make, I am a stranger after all but it makes me feel happy to know there are all you lovely people out there giving me and others encouragement.

Rancorman's creations

My son has decided that it is about time I showed some more of his Fimo models. This little collection is from the Kirby series of games.

The line up (left to right) is Kirby, Meta-Knight, King DeDeDe, a Waddle-Dee and lastly a Waddle-Doo. These were all made at a Fimo class with Bev at Craftastic. (Bev did another model but Rancorman sat and made these instead.

The Scraproom Blog - Challenge #11

I saw this challenge on Daydream Believer's blog, it's from The Scraproom Blog. There is a sketch to follow by Julie Bonner.

This is Padme and Rancorman aged about 3 and 6. They have big smiles on their faces because Dad allowed them to have a lolly in the car on our way home.

I have used 12" x 12" papers from DCWV "The Stack 6". It has 180 sheets and I have had it about a year now and this is the first time I have used it. I will have to start using the papers instead of taking the block out looking through it and then putting it back.

I have been practising with the Craft Robo again and made the title "lollipop, lollipop... and scallop border (you can't see it very well as I did my pictures 6" x 4" and then mounted them so the paper underneath was quite large). I am getting the hang of the Robo software now and am really enjoying playing.

Hope you like my layout and are having a good weekend.

2 cards to show this time.

I've made 2 cards this weekend. It's taken me about 3 days on and off. Hope you like them.
The first is for Fab's big Christmas card challenge, you have to use a triangle card, stencilling or stamping. I have used (can you guess from the picture?) a triangle card. I cut the card on my Craft Robo, the snowflake is a Cuttlebug die and the decoupage is from the World of Beatrix Potter CD, the snow is Flowersoft. It's my first Christmas card this year, not bad for someone who leaves it 'til December to start making cards.

My second card uses a Bugaboo image. The background is a K & Company 6" x 6" pad called classic K. The "I'm late" was cut on my Craft Robo. I know it's garish but I like it, it reminds me of spring. This was my first time at cutting an aperture with words and it took me ages but now I know how to do it, it won't take as long next time. Don't know what I will use it for, might just keep it to look at and see what can be accomplished with patience.

Mother's Day Card

This is the card I have made for my MIL. I have mis-stamped? a flower at the bottom but I'm sure she won't mind. I've also noticed I haven't put MUM on it yet so will do that in the morning before we take it to her.

I am entering this card into the A Gem of a Challenge challenge. I have followed the sketch but I have put 2 leaves at the side of the big flower instead of 2 other flowers. I hope this will be allowed. The paper was a K & Co 12" x 12" paper I had and the red card had heart shapes embossed on it. The flowers were Prima.

For my Mother's Day I have bought (from my children) a new set of cutting plates for my Big Shot (I have used my other so much one of them cracked) and I have on pre-order from Craft Den a couple of Tim Holtz new dies. If you pre-order there is a discount. Hop over to the website and see for yourself.

Just Because...

These 2 cards were made for people at work who haven't had a good week. They are "Just Because" cards to let them know there are people who care about them and they are not alone. I know it's work related but even then sometimes it feels like you're the one who gets all the c**p thrown at you and no-one cares. Now they know someone does.

The papers were from K & Co 6" pad Sparkly Sweet. The flowers were Prima (e.). The images were Digital Doodlings Fairy with spots and Little 'Jeanie' Tilly. The charms , spacers and pearl brads were from The Hobby House, they are on ribbon because my DD had the chain I bought to put them on and I don't know where she put it.

Hope every one has a great weekend.

Birthday card for Jacob

This is a card I made for my friends son. He is 10 today. He is having a bouncy castle party at his local scout hut. The card is a Dustin Pike image and the papers are from the Crafts House paper pack Plum Pudding. I used a stripe and spot with a border cut from another stripy sheet. I can't remember who does the sentiments but it is from a full sheet with different sentiments with a gold edge.

Now I have to make a card for my daughters 11th birthday which is tomorrow. Not that easy when they are never more than 3 feet away from you all day. Another late night for me then.

Birthday card for a special friend

This is a card I have made for my bestest friend. I have followed the challenge on IACCCB. The challenge this time is a sketch and to use cream and gold plus 1 other colour. I have used red. The image is from the Mrs Tiggywinkle CD from Crafter's Companion, the base card is cream, with a red mat and gold stripes as per the sketch. I was going to add some flowers but I like the clean lines of the gold borders, I hope my friend does too.

Off to the seaside for a day out. It's my daughter's birthday on Monday so this is a surprise for her. Hope the weather stays dry.
