Catch the Bug + Friday Sketchers #111

I hope I'm in time for the Catch the Bug challenge because a new one comes out on Saturday.

Catch The Bug Challenge - theme - Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells

Friday Sketchers Challenge - sketch by Janneke

For this card I used a Bugaboo image I won on ATC Swappers her name is Stella, the blue backing paper is twinkling stars paper from Crafter Companion and some scrapbook paper from a QVC kit from years ago.  All matted onto silver paper from C&C.  I haven't put the sentiment in quite the right place for the sketch but I think it will pass.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and only 1 day to go until I can release my news.  I'm really excited.

It's a Crafter's Companion Challenge #8

This is my 3D project for the IACCCB #8. The theme is 3D and this challenge is being sponsored by Lothian Crafts.

I have used a project from the Crafter's Companion CD 'The World of Beatrix Potter'. It is easy to make but the card I used has a sheen on it and my DST doesn't like to stick to it so I may have to open it up and use wet glue. I took the photos now just in case I ripped it in the process of fixing it.

I am trying to enter more challenges and use up some of my stash but I am still not confident with choosing colours. I never really think the paper or colours I choose go together but my confidence is increasing because of the lovely comments I get on my blog. So thank you to everyone for taking the time out of your busy lives to make a fellow human being feel good about something she has done.

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend whatever the weather and where ever you are.

Another boring title...

You can tell I never liked English at school. I was great at speaking and having discussions but I could never put things in writing. I really wish I could think of some witty titles for my postings.

Anyhooo here is my entry for A Gem of a Challenge #3. I have used the freebie image supplied on the site and the sketch from Daisy Doodles Creative Challenges (I can't enter it in this challenge as I missed it by a day). Hope everyone had a good weekend.

The recipe for this card is gingham paper from CC's Mrs Tiggywinkle CD, blue paper from 12" x 12" Papermania textured coloured card pack. I cut the ovals on my Craft Robo. I went round the edge of the blue card with blue Stickles. The flower were from Ikea, found them on sale for a few pennies for about 50 flowers. Got 2 packs and now wish I'd got more.

**just realised this weeks challenge on Daisy Doodles is Pink + 1 other colour so this card can be used.** 1

1 card 2 challenges never manged that before.

cute little polka dots and stamps for sale

This card is for the IACCC #6. They have asked us to use a gatefold card and have shown a red polka dot picture as inspiration. This is my entry for the challenge. I made a red base card using card from the DCWV Christmas cardstack with green matting from a K & Co 6"x6" pad Classic K and polka dot paper from Jak Heath Designs. The image is from the Peter Rabbit CD from Crafter's Companion. I have used a little polar white flowersoft on the card so it can be used as another Christmas card.

I am getting quite addicted to making Christmas cards and I now need to make envelopes for them. As I make my own cards I don't have envelopes to fit. Thank goodness for my Enveloper and box maker.

***Just a heads up that Sarah at Stressed Stamper has some Penny Black stamps for sale, hop over and have a look.***

Another Christmas card

This is my entry for Fab's Big Christmas Card Challenge the theme this week is tone on tone. This card took me a long time to do as I couldn't think of any thing I could do that was tone on tone. I eventually used some Christmas stamps I've had for 2 years and never used. I used a versamark pad to ink the image and then chalked the white card with green. I then stamped the stars and embossed with gold embossing powder. This was matted onto some dark green paper with holly leaves on it and I made a green base card. The sentiment is from the Crafter's Companion Cute companions Christmas set.

I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend and the rain is not putting a damper on things.

Live crafting on Crafter's Companion Forum

Here are a few of the pages I did of the book, Ildiko typed us through on the Crafter's Companion Forum. I won't put all 13 pages on you can see them if you join the forum.

This is the front of the book, I have to choose a name to put on there, I was thinking of "Pretty Things".

This is a page I am going to put the neighbourhood cats on, both my children love to fuss them as they don't have pets of their own.

This one has the decoration down the middle of the book to hide where I have joined 2 pieces of paper because my measurements were out.

I will be joining in again of Thursdays so will post my effort when I can.

Card for It's a Crafter's Companion Challenge.

The It's a Crafter's Companion challenge this week is orange and yellow. Here is my take on that theme. I haven't put a sentiment on it yet as I don't know what I will use it for.

I have used a burnt orange card, with a yellow mat and an orange background cut on my Craft Robo. The image is from the Flower Fairies CD - Buttercup.

Christmas card 2009

This is the Christmas card I made for family and close friends. I used a Crafter's Companion back ground from the Cute Companions CD mounted on silver card attached to a red base card. The mouse is a Cute Companion mouse stamp, coloured with water colours. The mouse is attached to a silver snowball which moves in a slider slot. I then covered all the snow with Ice crystal stickles. I made the card into an easel card.

Another card, another birthday

Here are 2 pictures of a card I made for a friend. The pictures are not very good, my camera takes lovely pictures when things are about 10-15 feet away but try to get close not so good. I have tried the macro but it always seems grainy. I am putting a new camera on my birthday list but will have to wait until November unless I'm lucky and get one for our anniversary/valentines day in February.

I will be entering the It's a Crafter's Companion challenge the theme is orange and yellow. You have to have your entry in by Sunday so as usual it will be a last minute rush on Saturday night.

Wooo whooo managed a card

This is a card I have made with my daughter for her friends birthday. I have used a fairy off the Crafter's Companion Flower Fairies CD. It is an easel card but as we were having problems photoing the card you can only see the outside.

Cards from the Crafter's Companion Challenge Blog

For my second posting I will show you some of the cards I made for the Crafter's Companion Challenge Blog. The blog was closed over Christmas but should be up and running again soon.

This card was for the 1st challenge, but I missed the closing date.

These 2 are my favourite layouts and I have used these on several occasions since the challenge.

This is the card I sent to my cousin in Australia. It was the last challenge I entered before Christmas.

Hope you enjoyed these cards and hope you will hop along and join in when the challenges are up and running again.
