We were kindly given an image to use and I received Forever My Darling -Love Note Fariy.  I coloured her using my Spectrum noir pens and cut her out with a Tonic Trellis die.  I used distressed ink to dab through the die as a stencil and around the edge.  The gems were from a finger nail art set and the butterfly is a 3D x-cut die.  The "Thank you" die is from Die'sire.  All card from stash.

You have until Saturday afternoon to show us your Pink and Lime Green creations.  We accept any type of project as long as you follow the rules and theme so hop over and have a look at the DT's inspirational work.

Challenge 106 - Distress it

For challenge 106 we have the talented Lizzy Love from

Prize: 3 images from the store
Theme: Distress it

We were generously given an image to work with and I got "Veggie Veronica".  As soon as I saw the image I knew what I wanted to do.  I used Craftartist to find some orange paper and put some bats all over it then scored it using my hougie board, love this board for scoring and it's big enough to work off too.  I made a little bag to hold some sweets and then made a tag to go on the front of it.  The tag is cut with my Tonic art nouveau laying dies and attached with a tiny purple brad. The image was coloured using spectrum noir pens.  The tag and the edges of the box were distressed with scissors and a nail file.  The words around the edge say "There's nothing more distressing than exercise, so please pass the treats".

Now you've seen my interpretation of the theme hop over to the challenge and show us your distressed projects.  It can be anything, have you distressed your drawers lately take a picture and show us.

We were kindly given images to use and my image is Autumn Rose Boots and Bows.  As soon as I saw this image I thought of "Bridget Jones".  I really like the films and I think the Tonic sentiment "live the life you imagined" would be perfect for this image.  I used Tonic die Live the life you imagined and numbers from the tonic squeeze box and the Die'sire Happy Birthday die.  I coloured the shadow with my Spectrum Noir pens and also the image.  The backing paper was from Craftartist with a few more flowers added by me and embossed with a sizzix texturz plate.  The butterfly is a X-cut 3D die glittered by me.

Crafting When We Can Challenges 98 - Summer Fun

Your colour combo project from the last challenge have given me plenty of inspiration to try different colours together.  For this challenge over at CWWCC we have the wonderfully talented Sherry from

Theme:  Summer Fun

We were given images to use and I chose Hanging on.  As soon as I saw it I knew what I wanted to do with it. I used Craftartist to design my card with a digikit CS Country Garden make my background and print out my image.  I also printed out some layers for the tree so I could decoupage it to create dimension.  I coloured my image using Spectrum Noir Pencils then fussy cut the image.  I layered up all my pieces using 3d foam pads and voilà a hybrid craft card.  I think this photo shows you all the dimension that was created.

Challenge 97 - Favourite colour combo

For this challenge we have the fabulous

The prize is 3 images from the store.

Theme:  Favourite colour combo

For my card I chose Dreaming of Spring.  I really love this image, the way Mi Ran have drawn her staring off into the distance.  I don't think I have a favourite colour combo but I seem to be drawn towards purple & green when I make my cards so this is the colour combo I chose.  I also included a blue to match the sky in my image.  The papers are from my stash, bought over the years.  I coloured the image with spectrum noir pencils. The butterfly was cut using a tonic die and the sentiment is from Crafters Companion.  The card background is from a digikit in CraftArtist.  Pearls from The Works.

I hope my card has given you some inspiration and if you want to leave your favourite colour combo project on the challenge you may be in with a chance of winning the fabulous prize.  Hop over and leave some love to my team mates.

Challenge 96 - Paper piecing

I'm just been finishing off outfits for the next production of High Green Musical Theatre Group, it's Little Shop of Horrors.  If you are in the Ecclesfield area of Sheffield next week come along and watch a fabulous show.

Blatant advertising over I have really enjoyed paper piecing.  It's the first time that I remember trying it.  To make it easy for myself I made my image big and Lucy has just the same expression my daughter had when I told her she would have to do some chores around the house when she is on holiday.

She's made herself a star chart for when she does things so I've made her a basic chore chart using the wonderful image from our fabulous sponsor
Oddball Art Stamps

Prize:  3 images of choice from the store

I used CraftArtist to make a grid and filled it in with basic instructions.  I then printed it out after I put in the image to the size I wanted.  Once I had printed this I used material from several kits to print the images onto.  Spectrum noir pencils were used to colour the pieces I wasn't going to piece.  I used a paper for her hair, dungarees and scarf and shoes.

Hop over the the CWWCC and see the wonderful projects our fabulous DT have created and while you are there leave us your awesome projects to look at and if you've followed the rules you may be in with a chance to win our wonderful prize.

We are half way through the challenge over at Crafting When We Can Challenges.  As always the entries are fabulous so if you want to join in hop over and leave us your blinged up cards.

This Challenge we don't have an image sponsor but our wonderful Team Leader, Challenge co-ordinator and all round wonderful person who runs this Challenge Ang has put up the fabulous prize.

A $10 gift voucher for the crafty store of the winner's choice.

The only terms are that it must be a craft or stamp company, and the company of choice must sell gift vouchers in $10 denominations.

theme: Bling it up

My card for this challenge is made up of Tonic dies.  I have used the largest Art Nouveau layering die to make the rocker, and a combination of the Live the life you image frame and the sentiment from If friends were flowers frame set.  I cut another butterfly and layered up the wings.  The little flowers were made using petite petal punches and the pearls are from The Works.  All the card stock is from a DCWV Christmas card stack.

Hop over to the CWWCC and leave your blinged out project and if you've followed the rule you are in with a chance of wining Ang's fab prize.

Crafting When We Can Challenges 94 - One for the kids

This challenge over at Crafting When We Can Challenges is sponsored by the wonderful Kenny K Stamps

Prize: 3 images of choice from store

Theme:  One for the kids

I used some background images from the XOXO digikit and used my CraftArtist software to print out both sides of an A4 sheet to make my card base.  I cut off the corners of the page and used my Hougie board to score 4 lines to make a turned back gatefold card (I don't know what else to call it) and coloured my image, Girl Gamer, with Spectrum Noir pens and glued her into the middle of my card.  I then cut the card down to make an A6 size card in length.  I printed off a sentiment and used an offcut of the printed card to back the words and stuck it diagonally across the front of my card.  This reminds me of my daughter, she would be this image if I let her.  I'm thinking of making her a big poster for her bedroom door.

Hop over to the challenge and leave your "Kid" projects for us to have a look at and if you've followed the theme and rules you may be in with a chance of winning 3 of Kenny's fabulous images.

Crafting When We Can Challenges - project based on a song

The challenge over at CWWCC is to create a project on a song.  I knew I wanted a song about friendship but didn't know which one.  The theme tune from Friends was the first to come to mind but then having a look through a list I found the perfect tune for me and my bestie.  I've started to work longer hours and don't get to visit much at all now but I know even if we didn't see each other for months we would still be there for one another.

Our Sponsor is Amanda from

Prize: 3 images from the store

We were given a choice of image and I chose Autumn Rose & Arielle Besties.  The image was coloured using my Spectrum Noir Pencils.  I'm still practising with them but I like the way they blend, I just need to work on the colour combos.  The song I chose was Friendship by Cole and Porter.  All the papers were from my stash.  I used a swiss dot embossing folder on the green mat to echo the embossing on the purple paper.

Dedicated to my Bestie Gina.

FRIENDSHIP

If you're ever in a jam, here I am
If you're ever in a mess, S.O.S
If you ever feel so happy you land in jail
I'm your bail

It's friendship, friendship, just a perfect blend ship
When other friendships have been forgot
Ours will still be hot
A-lottle-dottle-dottle-dig-dig-dig

And if you're ever down a well, ring my bell
And if you're ever up a tree just phone to me
A-yes-sir-ee
If you ever loose your teeth and you're out to dine, borrow mine

It's friendship, friendship, just a perfect blend ship
When other friendships have been forgate
Gate?
Ours will still be great
A-lottle-dottle-dottle-chuck-chuck-chuck

If they ever black your eyes, put me wise
If they ever cook your goose, turn me loose
And if they ever put a bullet through your brain
I'll complain

It's friendship, friendship, just a perfect blend ship
When other friendships have been forgit
Ours will still be it
A-lottle-dottle-dottle-hep-hep-hep

If you ever loose your mind, I'll be kind
And if you ever loose your shirt, I'll be hurt
If you're ever in a mill and get sawed in half
I won't laugh

It's friendship, friendship, just a perfect blend ship
When other friendships are up the crick
Ours will still be slick

Crafting When We Can Challenges 91 - What's the weather (sun, rain, snow, cloudy)

Once again the entries to Challenge 90 were wonderful.  I love to see all the different styles.  The Winner and Top 3 will be announced later so hop over to CWWCC and become a follower and you won't miss any of the posts.

For Challenge 91 we have the wonderful Lizzy Love from

The winner will get 3 images of their choice from the store.

Theme: Weather What's the weather (sun, rain, snow, cloudy)

For my card I used the image Kendall collector of hearts.  I used my Spectum Noir pencils and blending solution to colour the image and the deco oval trellis die by Tonic,  I had patch the larger die together to make it bigger and used silver mirri card for the trellis and matt silver paper for the backing.  I then used more of the trellis dies to make an easel card.  I cut out some raindrops to use as embellishments.  The sentiment is by Charlie Chaplin "I always like walking in the rain, so no one can see me crying" and I thought it was perfect for this image.  You can see the reflections off the silver mirri card, I think it looks fab.

Hop over to the Challenge and leave us your weather inspired project and while you're there leave the DT some love click on their names to go to their blogs.

Challenge 90 - Favourite hobby or activity

Over at CWWCC we are half way through our current challenge favourite hobby or activity.  It can be anything from walking the dog to football or fishing.

We were given images to use by our fabulous new sponsor

I chose Owl because I knew I could use it as my favourite activity or hobby.  One of the things we like to do as a family is visit wildlife parks.  We don't get to do it as much now the children are getting older.  Here is a picture I have of my daughter at about the age of 8.  We were visiting a place called Ponderosa Rural Theraputic Centre.  At Ponderosa people are allowed to interact with certain creatures, under supervision of course.  My daughter loved stoking the owl so I thought is was a great photo to use with the image I had.  I coloured the image using my Spectum Noir pencils.  I don't have a lot of room for crafting at the moment as my son is still making his Judge Dredd costume and we have pieces all over the house.  I scanned the coloured image in and used my Craft Artist program to make a scrapbook page.

Hop over and show us your project using the theme Favourite activity or hobby.

Crafting When We Can Challenges 89 - Colour Combo - Grey, Pink, Kraft

I'm helping my son create a Judge Dredd costume for a Convention he wants to attend in April.  I'm playing the part of labourer.  Mom can you sand this, Mom can you cut these, Mom can you sew this.  That's why my post is late.

Over on CWWCC  we have a new sponsor

The Prize is 4 (none coloured) images from the shop

Theme: Grey, Pink, Kraft

I already had a Meljen's Design image (I have several) I wanted to use for this colour combo challenge.  I used Cupcake Treat Trio for the fabulous image on my card.

The pink and grey card I used was from a Multi-Coloured Pad I bought from Lidl.  It has 25 sheets of 270gsm card, only 1 of each colour but at £1.99 each I bought a few pads.  I also bought a couple of pads of 50 papers at 170gsm for the same cost.  The kraft paper was some I had laying around, just enough for what I wanted.  I used ribbon from my stash and a sentiment from the front of a magazine (can't remember which).  Coloured with Spectrum noir pens, placed on a die cut from my new Tonic Deco trellis die.  The images at the back have glitter and pearl pen on the icing.  The cupcake cases have brads as the decoration.  The front cupcake has been raised on foam pads and a butterfly brad placed on top.  The sentiment is placed on a spellbinder label.
I hope you like my project.  I really enjoyed making it.

Hop over to the CWWCC and show us your projects.  Push yourself to use this combo, I really like all the cards the DT have I hope you'll find some great inspiration from them.

Crafting When We Can Challenges 88 - Stitching real or faux

This fortnight over at CWWCC we have a new sponsor.  The wonderful
Lizzy Love from
Oddball Art Co
The prize is 3 images from the store

Theme:  Stitching real or faux

The image I was given to colour is Big Eyes Kendall Collector of Hearts.  As soon as I saw her I knew I wanted to go red.  I orginally designed and cut a filligee heart to use as my background but I couldn't make it fit with the bats at the side so I decided to go for a sketch (sketch Saturday see below) and I really like how it worked out.  I coloured Kendall and the gems with my Spectrum Noir pens in corals and dark reds.  I think I made the skin a little dark but I like how it looks with the reds.  The faux stitching was made with a fine liner and ruler.  I don't usually use a ruler but I will from now on I like the straight lines, mine usually go wonky.   I really like how this card turned out and my even send it to someone.

Hop over to CWWCC and leave us your stitching projects.  Remember the stitching can be real or faux.

Challenge 87 - Favourite Saying or Quote

This post is very late but you still have 6 days to join in Challenge 87.  All you have to do is use your favourite quote or saying on your project and follow the rules to be in with a chance of winning the great prize on offer by our wonderful sponsor.

Prize - 3 images from the store

You know how you have an idea in your head but your brain just won't play ball and put it down on paper.  Well this is just such an occasion.  When I planned out this card I quite liked the simplicity of it but in reality it came out Pants with a capital P.  I loved colouring the image, Heartfelt and I really like the quote.  I found a bat image for free and I thought this is going well.  Then I started to put it together.  I'll use wet glue thought I.  What a numpty idea.  Everything looked alright at first then the glue soaked in and everything buckled.  I put too much glue on and the base card got too wet.  I wasn't go to show it but these things happen.  I think I'll go back to the drawing board with this card and use double sided tape instead.

Hop over and leave your projects with the linky at the bottom of the page.

Challenge 86 - sketch by Ang

This week over at Crafting When We Can Challenges we have a new sponsor it is the wonderful

We were given a choice of images to use and I had Wedding Couple.  As we had a sketch to follow I used my image as the main focus and the sketch as my backgound.  I used Create and Craft glitter card that a friend gave me years ago for the background and Spectrum Noir pens to colour my image.  The yellow paper is nearer to the colour of the veil than it shows in the picture.  I have cut a bow from the paper and used a sentiment from Craftwork Cardz which I coloured the same colour as the dress.

I hope you have got some inspiration from my project.  In the spaces at the side I will put the peoples names.  When I find someone who is getting married.

Hop over to CWWCC and leave us your project based on Ang's fab sketch.

Challenge 85 - Anything but a card

I wish everyone a Happy New Year for 2015

Over at Crafting When We Can Challenges we have the wonderful

The winner will receive 3 images of their choice from the store.

We were kindly supplied with an image to use for this challenge and as soon as I saw this beautiful creature I knew just what I wanted to do with her.  I coloured her using Sprectrum noir pens and then scanned her into the computer so I could add her to my scrap page. I have also used my CraftArtist software and the digi kits Fantasy Medieval for the background, Fairy Garden for the ivy, Fantasy Fairies for the frame.

I have had this photograph for about 11 years and I always wanted to do a scrapbook page but could never think of anything to use with it.  This doorway is in the walled garden in Hillsborough Park in Sheffield.  When my children were young we spent a lot of happy hours in this garden along with about 15 other children and their mums.  There is a fountain with lots of snails and other creatures crawling in it.  All the seats were around the fountain and from there we could watch the children playing together like a big family.  There were never any arguments between friends (siblings yes but friends never).  It has such happy memories for me and I still love visiting whenever I can.  Hopefully our children's children can enjoy the same happy days there.  Just in case you wondered the door leads to nowhere because the other side is unsafe it is bricked up and you can't tell from the other side that the door is there.  It was always an enchanted door to another world and that is why it was overgrown to stop us getting through.

Some of the many original photos of the walled garden.  A paradise for small children to play in.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing my project and it has given you some inspiration.  Hop over to the CWWCC and leave us your anything but a card project.
