Crafting When We Can Challenges 83 - Clean and Simple

We had a great response to our last challenge and hopefully we will have the same response to our next challenge no. 83.

Our wonderful sponsor is Sherry from

Theme: Clean and Simple

For my card I used the image Snowman and Company.  This was such an easy image to use and I really enjoyed colouring it in and hopefully I managed to get my shading correct.  To keep it Clean and Simple I used my CraftArtist program to place a background on the card and then used the cutout studio to go around the image so I could place it on the background.  A sentiment was added using the styles in the program.  I coloured the image with my Spectrum Noir pens and added a little glitter to the snowflakes.  For the inside I will print out an insert and stick it so it covers the back of the front cover so the pen bleed does not show.  It took me about 1/2 an hour to complete from start to finish and no sticky glue to get everywhere.  My kind of crafting.

Now it's your turn to show us your Clear and Simple projects.  Hop over to the CWWCC and link up your projects and leave some love for my lovely, talented teamies.

Crafting When We Can Challenges 82 - Use your markers

Another wonderful challenge over at CWWCC.  This Challenge is sponsored by
Sassy Studio Designs
The winner gets to choose 4 images of their choice from the store.

Theme - Use your markers

We were given images to play with and I got Sock Hop Sweetie Sassy.  I enjoyed colouring this image, it was easy to colour.  I went for a block colour and didn't do any shading.  The glitter card I got from Home Bargains and the music background was printed from Season of Giving digikit.  I used blue and pink Spectrum Noir pens and made an ombre background with the colours, then sprayed with CC gold sparkle.  Cut 2 circles with a spellbinder die and used some old peeloffs for the numbers.  I can't remember where I got the ribbon, I've had it for ages.  A corner rounder was used on the (can you guess) corners.

CHALLENGES

Sketch Saturday #335 - Sketch by Debra
Stamp and Create - Ribbon or Lace
(ribbon)
MAWTT - Sparkle and/or Shine
(you can't see it very well but the background has CC gold sparkle on it)
Cute Card Thursday - Stripes
(the colours on the background)

Hope you've enjoyed my card and it has inspired you to have a go with your markers.  Hop over to CWWCC and let us see your projects.

Crafting When We Can Challenges 81 - Black and White

House to my self, catching up on TV I missed and posting my project, oooh a lovely Sunday morning.  Over at CWWCC we have the wonderful Heather from

Theme - Black and White
Black and White for your main theme

We were generously given a free choice of image from the shop and I chose 1920's Winter Abby.  I really loved the look of Abby and I adore her clothes.

As our theme is black and white I knew the papers I wanted to use.  A Die Cut With A View paper pad stack 6 had just the right papers.  Wright colours and very elegant, perfect for Abby.  The white paper is just from my stash and I used IG1 and IG2 to colour the image and a black fine liner to edge the fur.  I used an A5 base card and followed the Sketch Saturday sketch.

old stuff approx ages:  card base over 2 years, designer papers probably 5 years, white card 3 years old, peel offs 8ish years, spectrum noir pens 1 year, DS tape 1 year, DD foam 2 years, image new

Hop over to the CWWCC page and show us your black and white projects.

Crafting When We Can Challenges 80 - Name It (personalise your project)

I'm very late with this post because something happened to my eye last week and it was weeping and very sore so I was not able to do my project.  Then my printer decided to play up and then the laptop had a wobble.   Thankfully everything is OK now.  Eye better, I don't know what caused the problem.  OH treated me to another printer and the laptop seems to be OK now.

Over at CWWCC 80 we have the

Theme - Name It
we would like you to personalise your project

our fabulous Sponsor is

We were given a choice of image and I chose The Artist and as soon as I saw it I knew what I wanted to make with it.  I have a friend who's an artist and she would have very curly hair if she didn't keep it short.  I'm also sure that in her time she would have painted in a costume like this.  I made a hanger for her craft room.

I used a piece of thick grey board and covered it with Tim Holtz distressed inks.  I used all the orangy range of colours and built up the colours.  I also used my Craftrobo to cut out the letters and stuck on with glue.  The image was coloured with my spectrum noir pens and DIs used to create a frame around it.  I then mounted it on a pale orange glitter mount.  A gold pen was used to go around the letters after I stuck them on.  I made a purple spider because it's nearly Halloween and I liked the purple to break up all the orange.  A couple of eyelets using my Crop-o-dile, some orange ribbon for a hanger and the project was complete.

You still have a week to join us over at CWWCC with your personalised project.

Challenge 78 - Christmas Come Early

I really didn't want to think about this in September but it really is time to start thinking about it if I need to be ready and after last year when Christmas crept up on me (who knew it was at the end of December - Duh).

For this Challenge we have the fabulous Nicole from

The Winner will received a $10 Gift Certificate

We were given an image and sentiment to use and I got to use the fabulous
Christopher Holding Logs.  I really enjoyed colouring this image in and for a change I used my Copic markers to colour my image.  I had an idea in mind when I saw the image and decided to make a stepper card and use my Tim Holtz Bigz dies of pine trees for the side steppers.  I've used glitter card throughout but the trees are a self adhesive glitter foam.  The snowflake is a die and the glitter card came from Home Bargains.  I didn't like the way the card mat edge looked so I used ribbon to mask the joins and edges.  For the edge of the white border at the bottom I drew round a Spellbinder die and then cut out with a knife.  The base card came from Craft Den Studio.  I'm really please with how this turned out and someone may get this as a Christmas card this year.

Hop over to the CWWCC and show us your Christmas projects.

Crafting When We Can Challenges 77 - Borrow a Sketch (give credit to the place you borrowed from)

A week late but having trouble with blogger.  Sometime it lets me in sometimes it tells me I don't exist.  I do I have a stinking cold to prove it.

Anyhoo over at CWWCC we have the wonderful sponsor

We were given 2 images to play with and I received Queen's Coronation Sassy.  I think she looks very regal.  I chose the papers first before I coloured her in.  I've had these papers for a while and didn't know what to do with them but as soon as I saw this image I knew I could use them, they are from Hot off the Press (Lemonade Stand).  Image and pearls are coloured with Spectrum Noir Pens.  I used a corner rounder to clip the square edges.  The flower are Petit petal pairs from Tonic.  I borrowed the sketch from Sketches by Carly.  Carly no longer runs the sketch challenges but she is designing images now at Imagine that Carly's Cuties.

Hop over to CWWCC and join in with your borrowed sketches (please credit the place you borrowed the sketch from).

Crafting When We Can Challenges 76 - Oodles or Doodles (doodles or writing on you projects)

Welcome back or Hello and welcome if you're new.  We have a new Challenge over at CWWCC and our wonderful Sponsor is Sherry from

Sherry kindly gave us some images to use on our projects but I missed the e-mail about this so didn't get a new image.  Boo some might say but not I as the image I used I really like.  It is Pirate Adventure and for my project I actually made a paper scrapbook page.  WHAT! I hear you say no CraftArtist, well not quite I did use the software to size and printout my image but other than that I only used it to edit my image for the blog.  I know, I was having palpatations at not using some sort of technology to do my crafting so out came the Craftrobo.  I used this to cut my mats and title but I fussy cut the image and tore the blue paper for my water.  I also got my fingers inky by using a white ink pad to make the waves.  (My friend (only have 1 crafty friend) will be laughing when she reads this as she knows I hate to get messy.)  I used a white pen to edge the mats and doodles a little ship and its path the find the treasure on the skull shaped island.  The image was coloured using my Spectrum Noirs.

The picture is of my son and daughter dressed as pirate and princess pirate for a Halloween party at a garden centre.  My son is dressed in my favourite long coat and my belt, his Dad's shirt and his own trousers and my daughter is dressed in a favourite witch's dress that she thought looked princess piraty.  On the lead is her favourite cuddly toy Sarah.  She's had Sarah since she was 2 1/2 and she still takes her on holiday, my daughter is 15 1/2 now.

Anyhoo, it's time to hop over to the Challenge blog and show us your Oodles of doodles project.  As long as you follow the theme and rules you will be in with a chance of winning the Sponsors awesome prize.

Crafting When We Can Challenges 74 - Make your own background

Late again, naughty girl I am.  I've was getting ready for my holiday and realised that it was the weekend for posting the next Challenge.

Our wonderful Sponsor is

I quickly made up the Challenge post but didn't get time to make my project.  I'm always last minute with my projects, anyhow I have just returned from my week in Norfolk and have put together the following page using a photo I took of my kids in the sea at Cromer.  I used the image Sirena.  I coloured her using CraftArtist 2  with materials from various digikits.  I then created a background by replicating the image and placing it over a faded paper from the kit.

I love how you can use digital images with your software.  I do alot of digital scrapbooking and love to use my images.  Sometimes I colour them and scan them in and other times I use the material as I have with this project.  The mermaid tail is a sequin material to give the impression of shiny scales, her hair is a cork looking material and the skin and lute are crumpled paper, eyebrow details are green crystals.
Now all you have to do is hop over to the Challenge blog and show us your backgrounds and why don't you have a look at the DT call we are having at present, it's a sticky post at the top. See you over there.

Crafting When We Can Challenges #73 - Friendship

I'm late with my DT post so you only have 6 days to enter over at Crafting When We Can Challenges.

Our sponsor is the wonderful Christine from

The prize on offer is a $20 gift certificate for the shop

Theme:  Friendship

I chose to use the freebie image Vigilante for my card.  I coloured her with Sprectum Noir pens and used my Craftrobo to cut out the card and mats.  The papers were from the digi kits by Vintaj.  I thought the sentiment fitted well with the image and theme as every friend should have your back.  The faux stitching was done using the sketch pens in the craftrobo.

Hop over to CWWCC and show us your take on Friendship.

Crafting When We Can Challenges 71 - Leftovers (use your scraps, nothing new)

Sorry to miss the last Challenge but I had an amateur production on and I help with the wardrobe and I've not been feeling well so I just didn't get around to keeping up with my DT work.  So sorry to my DT colleagues and Sponsor for letting the side down but sometime life just won't play nice.

Anyhoo, the Challenge this fortnight is sponsored by
4 images of your choice

Theme
Leftovers
use your scraps, nothing new

We were given a choice of image to use for this challenge and I chose Latte Momma Sassy

All my papers and embellishments are things I took out of my scrap box.  The papers are years old, the spellbinder die used is one of my oldest, the ribbon is out of my scrap ribbon box.  I did use my Spectrum Noir pens but I feel like I've had these for ages too.  The teacup and teapot are about 2 years old and coloured to match my image.   The newest item I used is my petite petal pair punches, these are about 2 months old but I think I'm allowed these. :-)   The sentiment is "There is no trouble so great or grave that cannot be much diminished by a nice cup of tea" by Bernard-Paul Heroux (and American politician).  I feel this is so true, I love a good cup of tea at any time happy or sad.

Hop over to the Challenge and leave us your projects using things from your scrap box.

Crafting When We Can Challenges 69 - die cut/silhouette/craft robo shapes

For Challenge 69 over at Crafting When We Can Challenges we have a new sponsor, Nicole from

The Winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to the store

Hop over to the Challenge and see the wonderful inspiration from our marvellous DT.

For my card I used one of my favourite craft items, my Craft Robo.  I don't use this equipment enough but I love designing things on the computer to use when I can have it set up again.  It's such a pain to have to keep packing it away.  My OH claimed the space I had for his stuff.  I'm thinking it's time I claimed it back.

I cut out a frame design I designed a while ago.  I had trouble with it because my blade is old and didn't quite go through the card but it was easy enough to just cut the bits that didn't release.  I used card from my stash for the base card and papers from DCWV stack 6 for my designer papers, I embossed the stripey paper and used a ribbon from a chocolate box to cover the join the papers.  I then printed out my image Work Out Cat onto coated card and coloured with my spectrum noir pens and cut an oval with my robo.  I used stickles to add the glittery dots and my cropodile to add the eyelets to the top corner.  The background for the image was made with spectrum noir pens and distressed inks.

Crafting When I Can Challenges 68 - Sketch

For the challenge over at Crafting When We Can Challenges we have a sketch by Ang and our wonderful sponsor is

The theme is a Sketch by Ang.

We were allowed to choose our image for this challenge and I chose Jolene.  I coloured her with my Spectrum Noir pens and used some ribbon I've had for about a year.  The papers were from a Trimcraft 6" pad, I embossed stars into the background paper.  All the edges of the paper and image mat were distressed with Vintage Photo DI.  I'm really pleased with her hair this time, I love the colours but forgot to write them down and now can't remember what they were.  I know there were 3 colours from the TN range.  The ribbon was from Craft Den Studios and the sentiment was from a K & Co pad.

Crafting When We Can Challenges 65 - Hearts and Flowers

Over at CWWCC the we have the delightful ArtbyMiran as our Sponsor

We were kindly given a choice of image and I chose Princess Color Page.  I really enjoyed working with this image, it gave me chance to practice hair colouring.  I used my Spectum Noir pens and a DCWV paper pad for the heart backing paper.  Gold card was used to compliment her hair and provide the hearts.  I didn't have the right colour card to use as a border so I coloured some white card with the same colour pen I used to highlight the details at the bottom of the dress.  A Martha Steward punch was used for the border edge.

I'm so late in my posting (near 2 weeks), so I'll make it quick.

Our wonderful Sponsor is
Sassy Studio Designs
The theme is
Anniversary
You have until 5pm BST to enter over at CWWCC.

I used a WRMK mini 8 scallop punch to punch some pearlised card.  I then scored a diamond trellis onto the card and put little pearls on the intersections.  I used my spectrum noir to colour the SSD image called Curvy Babydoll Sassy, fussy cut the image and stuck it to the front of the card.  I then used 1" wide satin ribbon to make a hanger.  Not a card but I think the meaning will be clear if it turns up on the door handle.

Crafting When We Can Challenges 62 - Food

For Challenge 62 we have a theme of
Food

and our wonderful Sponsor is

For my image I used one I already had as I wanted to use my CraftArtist software to try something new but when I hopped over to The Stamping Chef shop I couldn't find it and site seems to have had a makeover, so I hope I have used the correct The Stamping Chef link.

I used Kiss the Cook image and I used my CraftArtist software to block and fill the png outline with colours and textures.  I then used Afternoon Tea digikit to make my backgroud.  I printed and cut out my Cook image and 3D it on to the front of the card.  Just need to make up a foody sentiment.  For the inside I used a Purple Ronnie verse. (the background seems to have printed out quite dark and wonky which I didn't notice when I photographed it).

Challenge 61 - Recipe - 1 image, 2 ribbons/twine, 3 main colours

How quick time flies, it only seem like days when I was making my last post for Crafting When We Can Challenges.  This Challenge is sponsored by the wonderful

I used the image Bubble Gum Sassy.  I printed out the image larger than I needed, my colouring in skills are rubbish on small images but I'm practising with my Spectrum Noir pens.  I then scanned the coloured image backing to my CraftArtist and used one of the built in templates.  I then used the digikit Paradise to fill in the background and create the panels for my image to sit on.  I then cut out and glued the template together to create a little gift bag which I finished with 2 ribbon handles.  I also put a glass look bubble via the CA program over her bubble gum.
