I had some trouble with the sea, it's too green. I tried to make it a bit more bluey but it didn't work very well, the pearl paints don't blend very well but it gave a bit of a shadow which is what I wanted. As you can guess I went for "The Owl and the Pussy Cat. The boat is a pea green and the sky is darker IRL.
I was discussing with a friend today how I find it difficult to put lots of "things" on my cards, if I can't see a connection between the embellishments and the theme of my card I can't bring myself to put them on. I am going to work on this but it may take a while. You'll know what I mean if you look at the entries to Dezinaworlds Spot Prize, they are little works of art and I don't envy June trying to decide who the winner will be.
Hope everyone is having a good week, I'm off now to see if I can find any reviews for the CraftArtist digital craft/scrapbook CDs Create and Craft have as the Pick of the Week.

Oh, this is adorable, Poppet! And I know what you mean about putting so much stuff on tags and cards--I always wonder what to put on mine! lol
I hope you're having a great day!!
XO
Such a sweet image...
Trust yourself...don't add if it doesn't feel right. It is easier to mimic something you have seen than to trust your own creative instincts. Be who YOU are!
O'dear...first visit to your blog and here I am throwing out advice. Thank you for commenting on my blog...and do come again :)

Hi sweetie this is gorgeous & I think your sea looks fine.....I used to worry about what bellies to put on cards most of the time now I go with the flow dependent on image, papers & style I'm doing. Go with your heart hun we each have individual taste & styles so you do what is natural & comfy to you... Does that make sense lol? Sometimes I dont understanjd myself lol.
Lotsa hugs Vicky xxx

Hi Poppet, Ohhh this is so lovely, one of my favourite childrens poems. You did a fabulous job painting this. i love how the sakura pen brings out the moon. I agree with everyone else, go with what feels right for you, sometimes i think some cards and other things are over embellished, its all about what feels right and looks right to the artist.
Thanks for entering the challenge this week my friend, you are an angel
hugs June
I love this card and the image is wonderful. You do not always need to add a bunch of stuff to make it beautiful. thanks for sharing and have a great weekend. Angela
