Saturday sketch #105 + Moving Along With The Times #48

This card was made using card from the Papermania 12 x 12 textured card pack.  I used my Hougie Board (love this board) and Fiskars cutter to make the steps.  Backing papers were downloaded from Tinker & Co. they are having a sale on at the moment on certain paper kits.  The image is a Bugaboo freebie (I don't know if it is still available as a freebie), the mats are nestie dies and the flowers are a mixture of punches (I think Woodware and C & C, from the days of Alan & Barry, but don't quote me on this).

I am entering this into 2 challenges

Saturday Sketch #105 - sketch - hope this qualifies as only the middle step follows the sketch.

Moving Along With The Times #48 - Folds

An update on OH, he's not had any more pain (thank goodness) and he has read on the internet that a mixture of lemon juice & olive oil will help make the stone smaller, so he has had this mixture twice in the hope it will help dissolve? the stone.  He goes back to the hospital in 2 weeks for a follow up appointment and hopefully the stone will have gone by then.

I hope everyone had a good weekend and if you live in the UK I hope you enjoy the bank holiday.  Happy crafting. :-) xx

Craft Den - May ATC - Flowers

This is my entry for the May ATC swap organised by Lynne, owner of the Craft Den.  The papers are from the 6 x 6 paper pack Wild Asparagus by MME, the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.  I followed the Tim Holtz method to make the paper rose.

The theme for June's swap is Shoes so get out those 2.5" x 3.5" pieces of card and get crafting.

Mojo: FOUND

It was under a big pile of insecurity but with the help and encouragement of my blogging friends I have found my Mojo.

I am entering this card into 3, yes 3, challenges.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge #103 - In the garden

Papertake Weekly Challenge #41 - Sketch

Simon Says Challenge - Pink (or blue) with green & brown

I made this card last night and everything went really well, I loved the colours and enjoyed the colouring and then I opened the card and I had done it upside down.  I couldn't even turn it into a tent type card so out came the long blade craft knife and I carefully eased the whole front off and turned it round.  Luckily it stuck back down really well.

The recipe is 6 x 6 papers Wild Asparagus by My Mind's Eye  (love these papers), Penny Black stamp squeeze 'til I squeak, sentiment from Craftwork Cards, Ribbon C & C, plain pink mat from stash.  I colour the image using Copics and inks, then decoupaged a second layer for the mice.  I hope you like this card as much as I do.  And I hope the weather is better where you are.  It's rained all day today.  Have a happy weekend and I will post again tomorrow (told you my Mojo was back but I didn't want to do 2 posts in one day).  :-) xx

LOST: Mojo...

If found please return.

I really had to force myself to do this card so I could complete the Cowgirl Sunday Challenge #2 with blog hop.  You have to collect up the numbers off the DT blogs and challenge blog then post a card using black, white and red, then e-mail the added up numbers.  This challenge ends on Sunday and has run for nearly 2 weeks.

I will use the excuse that I had to rush my OH into hospital 2 times with 'intense aching pains' (his words) caused by Kidney Stones (don't feel sorry for him it's payback for when I went into labour and he wouldn't get out of bed and take me to hospital, long story, maybe told another time).  The first time I took him was Friday morning after the kids had gone to school and then on Monday afternoon just after the kids got home.  Both times he had to stay in over night to get pain relief and have a scan to see where the stones were.  He's back home now but still off work waiting for the stones to pass.

Anyhoo, the paper I have used is from a DCWV 12 x 12 paper stack No. 6.  I pleated the paper to make a rosette and used a Craftwork Cards sentiment in the middle. I used my big bite to punch out the small circles and stuck them on the black layer.

If I don't post again I hope everyone has a good weekend and for the people in England a good long weekend.

ATC Swappers - May Swap

These are my swaps for ATC Swappers - May - theme Tall Tales.  This is an extract from ATC Swappers blog. "So, we are looking for any story characters, fairy tales inspired ATCs. Bring on the Little Red Riding Hoods, the Humpty Dumptys, the Willy Wonkas - whatever you can think of. This is a regular, straight forward swap when we swap 4 ATCs. It's up to you, they can be 4 identical ones or 4 unique ones."  I have chosen to make 4 unique ones.

For Alice I have used an image from Dezinaworld.  The papers are from a 6 x 6 K & Co paper pad - Classic K, gems from stash and image coloured in copics.
For the White Rabbit, image by Bugaboo, papers, gems and colouring media as above.
This is my version of Thumbelina the image Digital Doodlings.  The Paper, gems, colouring media as above.
This is my interpretation of Little Mermaid, image from Tracey Dawnn Splitcoast Stampers. (I'm sorry but I've lost the link and can't find it). Papers, gems and colouring media as above.
Very quick blog today but I really enjoyed doing these ATCs.

Cowgirl Sunday Stamp'en Challenge #1

This is my entry for Cowgirl Sunday Stamp'en Challenge #1 - Sping or Mother's Day.

I have used a freebie from Cowgirl's Blog (I don't know if it is still available CJ has been re-modelling her site and opening a new digital stamp store.

I have used some K & Co 12" x 12" papers and paper flowers I got on sale at Hobbycraft.  I coloured the image with copic markers and hand wrote the sentiment. (handwriting has never been my strong point).

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Just a notelet

This is a notelet I made when I needed to send a message into my son's school.  The papers are from a 6" x 6" K & Co pad 'hopscotch'.  The image is a Dustin Pike freebie.  I chose this image because my son's school has just started to raise quails and this is as near as I could get to a quail. (I also love Dustin's images and don't use them enough).  I have coloured the image with copic markers.  I'm still practising with shading, I'm more of a crafter than an artist.  Some people have a natural talent with colour, me I'm more of a paper person if you know what I mean.

Hope everyone has a good day and that the weather warms up.  I'm really fed up with this chilly weather and I don't mind cold.

An award from Sandra (Rose Petal Creations)

I was given this award by the talented Sandra.  I have to link back to Doreen's blog (I think), and pass this onto 12 other people.

I wish I could give this award to all the lovely people who visit my blog but I can only chose 12.  I have chosen these people because they visit my blog because they want to not because I have entered a challenge. (Don't take this the wrong way I really appreciate all my lovely comments).  I have listed them in alphabetical order by name (just because I'm a bit OCD about putting things in order, even if it only makes sense in my mind).

Please hop over to these blogs as you won't be disappointed.

DebbieElaineElaine,  Gina, Jennifer, Jodi, KerryLorraine, Mina, Pops, Steph, Sundownerin.  All you ladies are an inspiration to me and I really enjoy reading your blogs. I hope you will accept this award with pride because you deserve it.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge #4 & A Gem of a Challenge #4

This is my entry for Penny Black Saturday Challenge #100 - a sketch and  A Gem of a Challenge #4 - burgundy, pink & green.

I have used a Penny Black stamp called Bees and Bunny.  The image was coloured with inks, I am not used to this media but I will keep practising.  The backing paper is from a Joanna Sheen CD, Victorian Christmas, the stripy paper is CC Tom Kitten CD. The circles are cut using my Nesties and the flowers are Flora Doodles.  May base card was cut from a 12 x 12 cream card.

Oh why did I bother...

I updated something on this blog (still not sure what, did it late last night) and now things are going wrong.  Why does technology always do that.  When it works right it's fantastic but when it doesn't it is a real pain.  Hopefully this post will be all right.  I posted this morning but it wasn't right so I deleted it and have had to sort it out after work so here goes.
This is my entry for Lothian Crafts Challenge #2.  It is a sketch.  I have used the Crafter's Companion download  for May which is free to club members.  I cut the circles from my Nellie die, the sentiment is from Craft Works Cards and the base card is from a 12 x 12 Papermania textured card pack.

I wasn't too sure about this card last night but when my   daughter saw it this morning she said it was 'gorgeous' (this is her new word for beautiful apparently).

I am also entering this card into IACCCB #9 - monotone

Just cute bears challenge #15

This is my entry for Just Cute Bears challenge #15 - Buttons and bows.

I haven't used proper bow as I just couldn't get them right so I hope these knots? will be OK. The buttons I cut off my daughters school shirt, luckily she has grown out of it, (more new clothes, I do wish they would grow a little slower). The paper is a K & Co 6 x 6 paper pad 'Amy Butler'. I have put a big gem in the middle of the balloon.

The image is by Sliekje at Sliekje's Digital Stamps. I love Sliekje's images and they are all free.

I hope everyone had a good weekend and has a good week to come.

Creative Cottage Challenge #8 + Sophisti-cats Challenge #30 - I'm on a roll...

2 cards in 2 days. I'm definitely going to do as many cards as I can this weekend.

I am entering this card into 2 challenges Creative Cottage Challenge #8 - circles, I have managed to get 18 circles on this card (if you count part circles and round gems) and Sophisti-cats Challenge #30 - card for a child.

I have used a free download from Creative Cottage. I have used 2 background papers and the image from the download, the sentiment and gems are from my stash. All the circles were cut using my Nesties dies.

MAWTT #44 - Heidi's sketch

When I saw this sketch, by Heidi over at MAWTT I knew it would make a great scrapbook page and I had the perfect picture.

This is my son on a day out at Woodside Wildlife & Falconry Park with the Wildlife Watch group we attend. It was a beautiful day and the kids got to hold all sorts of reptiles. I particularly liked this picture because the snake just curled up and sat in Rancorman's hands.

I have used K & Co papers, it was a pack of 200 different papers which I bought from QVC years ago.

I will add the journalling later when I can think of something to write. I usually leave a space for my journalling but find it difficult to put what I think into words that other people are going to see.

I hope everyone is having a good Bank Holiday weekend and I can't wait to hear what you have been doing.
