Tales from Pollycraft - Flash those Freebies - Part #2

This is my entry for Paula's Flash those freebies - part 2.  I have used the freebie from Paula and the sketch from Sketch Saturday.  It doesn't quite follow the sketch but I think it's near enough.  The papers are K & Co. and Papermania's textured cardstock.  My new MS punch.  I have chalked the journalling with Dovecraft chalks.

Will be back tomorrow with my DT post for Cowgirl's Sunday Stamp'en Challenge.  There is a new release in the store and a DT call.  More news on that about noon tomorrow.

**edited to add Passion for Promarker challenge**Just Inspirational Challenge #3 + Sunday Sketch & Stamp #32 + The Pink Elephant #76

I have made this card for 3 challenges.

Just Inspirational Challenge #3 - theme - Vintage

Sunday Sketch & Stamp #32 - sketch by Ger

The Pink Elephant #76 - colour theme - Brown

Passion for Promarkers #61 - Distressing

This card uses Tinker & Co download papers and an image by Dezinaworld.  I coloured the edges of a 6 x 6 card with a chocolate coloured ink, edged my patterned paper with the same ink (hard to see on photo but it did make a difference).  Layered my Tinker & Co patterned paper onto a dark brown paper from a Papermania 12 x 12 coloured card pack. Coloured my image twice (coloured my image once before inking edges of card and then picked image up and got inky fingers all over it, must put baby wipes closer) stuck on some card candy coloured with my new Promarkers (must remember to enter PFP challenge) and Bobs your auntie's husband.  I didn't know if I could pull this off but it looks really good (she says modestly).

Off to do my linking before I forget, lots of running around this teatime with kids.

Anything Goes Challenge #7

This is my entry for

Anything Goes Challenge #7  -  Theme  -  Sparkle & Shine.

This is my entry for Anything Goes Challenge #7.  I have used a Cowgirl Up image called Angela

My sparkle is the bluey gems and Angela's wings.  The shine is the gold mirror board.  I found it very hard to use this amount of mirror card, I'm very mean frugal with it.  I cut the centre out of my big mat. The bluey mat is from a DCWV Christmas cardstock stack (say that fast 4 times if you can).  Angela was coloured with Promarkers (my bank balance to a hit at Hobbycraft when they had them at half price), and then I went over the wings with a Sakura glitter pen.

Just a reminder Cowgirl Up has a sketch & colour challenge this week.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Catch the Bug + Friday Sketchers #111

I hope I'm in time for the Catch the Bug challenge because a new one comes out on Saturday.

Catch The Bug Challenge - theme - Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells

Friday Sketchers Challenge - sketch by Janneke

For this card I used a Bugaboo image I won on ATC Swappers her name is Stella, the blue backing paper is twinkling stars paper from Crafter Companion and some scrapbook paper from a QVC kit from years ago.  All matted onto silver paper from C&C.  I haven't put the sentiment in quite the right place for the sketch but I think it will pass.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and only 1 day to go until I can release my news.  I'm really excited.

MAWTT #55 + Pollycraft flash those freebies

Just a quick post today for

MAWTT #55 - Sketch by Heidi to include Animals

Tales from Pollycraft - Flash those freebies

Heidi designed this great sketch over on MAWTT and I am using it to enter Tales from Pollycraft's 'flash those freebies'.  You have to enter a card using one of the past freebies and then there's more hop over and find out.

I have used My minds eye 'wild asparagus' papers, ribbon coloured with copic markers and card candy, blue paper from stash (I've run out now and can't remember where I got it).

2 days and counting then I can tell you my fantastic news (no I'm not pregnant or getting married).  I'm off out now so have a fantastic day.

Anything Goes #6 + Saturday Sketch #111

I have used the Saturday Sketch to do a seaside theme LO for the Anything Goes Challenge.

Saturday Sketch #111 - sketch

Anything Goes #6 - seaside

Sorry for the bad picture but it's getting quite dark.

Papers are from a 12 x 12 DCWV stack 6, matting paper is from Papermania textured 12 x 12 pad.

I know you may not think this has anything to do with the seaside but trust me it does.  In Bridlington (the seaside) we found a new family member.  His name is Rocky and he is Rancorman's pet rock.  As you can see from the photo Rocky went everywhere with us on that very wet day.  Rancorman carried him around, he wouldn't fit in a pocket (see 1st small photo), he played with him, had his photo taken with him (as you can see).  Rocky even sat in the middle seat on the way home with a seat belt on (it didn't fit but Rancorman insisted).

For the last 5 years Rocky has sat on Rancorman's bedside table keeping him company at night and occasionally coming out for the day with us.

There is an amusing story I thought I might tell you about Rancorman, Rocky and a policeman.

The police came into school to do a talk on how knives, guns, drugs etc. are bad.  The children were asking questions about what was classed as an offensive weapon.  One of the children asked if carrying a rock around in your trouser pocket was classed as an offensive weapon.  The policeman said only if it was going to be used to do damage to people or property but not many people would walk around with a large rock in their pocket.  "I do", pipes up Rancorman, "he's called Rocky and he's my pet rock".  A bemused policeman told Rancorman he wouldn't be arrested as long as Rocky stayed in his pocket.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Happy Crafting.  :-) xx

Daisy Doodles #12 + Pollycraft Monday #51

I hope this card meets all the challenges I have entered it for.

Daisy Doodles Challenge #12 - recipe - 1 ribbon, 2 pattern papers, 3 brads (I hope my strip of paper will pass as a ribbon as I don't have any blue.
Pollycraft Monday Challenge #51 - sketch - This is a sketch by Marit

The papers are from a 6 x 6, K & Co. pad Hopscotch, the blue paper for matting is from stash.  The skater image is from Sliekje and the sentiments are from Pollycraft.

Off to do my seaside theme for Anything Goes Challenge #6 (6 already).

Hope everyone has had a good weekend.  Happy Crafting.  :-) xx

Lothian Crafts Challenge # 4 + Penny Black #109

I have made this card for 2 challenges.

Lothian Crafts Challenge #4 - Blue + 1 other colour
Penny Black Saturday Challenge #109 - Sketch by Beth

Penny Black has a sketch to follow and I have used a stamp called Daydream.  I have tried the 'cutting out of the box method' but I think I need to get me some of those 90 degree glasses to wear as the corners leave a lot to be desired.

Lothian crafts have a challenge of Blue + 1 colour, as you can see my 1 colour is green.  This is a paper from Tinker & Co.  The ribbon was white but I coloured it with my copics and the brads are from my stash.

My little book is working for keeping and eye on what challenges will fit with others but as I had a family emergency earlier this week (everything is OK now) I have not managed to catch up so I am starting again this week.

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and Happy Crafting everyone.  :-) xx

Anything Goes #5 + MAWTT #52

This is my entry for Anything Goes Challenge #5 - Vintage and Moving Along With The Times #52 - Sketch.

I have inked my background making the bottom half darker by adding more ink and have punched a border from a Fiskars punch I have had for years but forgot I had until I found it in the bottom of a craft bag.  The picture is from Dezinaworld.  I have used a splash of turquoise because the young lady in the picture has the feathers on her hat colourised turquoise.

The colours are much richer in real life but when you take photos at 11:30 with energy saving lights you get what you get.  (I really must try to craft earlier in the day but I'm more of a night owl).

Off to plan some more cards now.  I have bought myself a book to write the challenges down so I can try to combine them and maybe enter more.  We'll see if it works.

I hope everyone had a good weekend and our American friends had a fantastic 4th of July.

Happy Crafting.

Card for Sundownerins new great nephew

This is the card I made for my blogging buddy Sundownerin's nephew and niece who were expecting their first child.  I sent this card before I went away on holiday but it has just been returned as I mis addressed it. Since then they have had a baby boy named Lars.
I have now put the correct address on and will be posting it tomorrow.
I have used one of Sundownerin's freebie sentiments on the front (hop over to her blog she makes some gorgeous things). According to translator it says 'you make me strong' I thought this would be a nice sentiment for a new family. The family image is from Pollycraft and the flying bear is from Bodils scrappeverden  all papers are from Tinker & Co.  I cut all the mats using my Nellie rectangular die everything was coloured with Copic markers.  The sentiment inside the card should read 'Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful baby boy'.

As I mentioned above I use Tinker & Co papers, a lot. Over on the Tinker & Co blog there is some candy and a great offer on a new set of digital products.  You can see what is on offer on my sidebar.

Happy Crafting everyone and have a good Friday. Hope all our Canadian buddies had a fantastic Canada Day.
